beZ bileta’s new album creates a storm!
beZ bileta (No ticket) thrilled music fans at the end of last year with the long awaited release of their new album Narisovana (Drawn). After three years of preparation, the result is lyrical, unusual and beautiful.
The band first perfomed in 1998 on December 1st and released their first album three years later – To Heaven. At the Rock-Crowning in 2002, one of the most significant Belarusian festivals, their song My Land Belarus became Song of the Year. Their music was quite different at that time as they were inspired by Belarusian folk music.
Since then, their line-up and influences have altered dramatically. Sergei Bakovets plays the guitar, Denis Sturchenko currently plays bass guitar, Denis Shurov is on percussion, Anya Kharchenko plays the bassoon, Denis Volkov works on their choreography, Tanya Kushner orchestrates the videos, transcriptions ans vocals and front-man, Vitalik does everything else! Their songs can be heard every day on the radio and are soon to be broadcast in Russia; their music videos are seen regularly on Belarusian music channels.
beZ bileta enjoy writing film soundtracks and contributed to the music of Men Do Not Cry. “We searched for our own style for quite a long time – eventually we found it. We are more interested in creating something new than writing popular songs – and I think we achieve this,” the band say. “When we create music or a video, we want a masterpiece; we only think about its conjunction with radio or TV formats later”. beZ bileta’s music and videos are certainly intellectually and emotionally stimulating.
